Who can apply for membership?
Almost any non-profit organisation with a commitment to volunteering can apply to become a member; you do not need to be a registered charity. We offer tiered membership costs dependent on income, including an unpaid tūao tier. For more information on the pricing of membership or to discuss if finances are a barrier, please reach out.
For an organisation to be accepted for membership you must have reasonable volunteer programme policies, or be actively working towards creating and implementing such policies. Organisations applying for membership must also have in place a health and safety policy covering their volunteers, and must provide an orientation including a health and safety induction for all referred volunteers.
Membership Fees
Our membership fees are based on your organisation's gross income and are due annually (our financial year is 1 April - 31 March). Fees will be prorated if you join throughout the year.
If paying the membership fee is a barrier to joining or staying a member, please email info@volunteerwellington.nz
