Hutt Valley Benefit Education Service Trust (BEST) provides free advice and advocacy for people on benefits or in low-income work in the Upper Hutt area, ensuring everyone can access their full and correct entitlements. Access to fair welfare support is a right, and BEST volunteers make it real.

This volunteer opportunity involves providing information about benefit entitlements to clients in Upper Hutt, advocating with Work and Income staff on clients' behalf, and supporting and representing clients through the review and appeal process. Volunteers are needed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am to 3pm.

What you'll bring:
• Understanding of the NZ benefit system or welfare law, or willingness to learn
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in casework
