The Cancer Society of New Zealand is a trusted organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of cancer, and ensuring everyone affected by cancer receives the care and support they deserve. For home-based clients in Porirua, maintaining connection, independence, and a sense of normality during treatment and recovery can make an enormous difference to their wellbeing.

Through the CanSupport Community Volunteer programme, this volunteer opportunity involves providing short-term, practical support to home-based clients, which may include friendly visits, going for a walk together, help with grocery shopping, light household tasks, or transport to appointments. Hours are flexible and matched to the volunteer's availability.

What you'll bring:
• A current, full New Zealand driver's licence (for transport support)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental
• Reliable, trustworthy, and consistent
• Sensitive to the needs and circumstances of people living with cancer

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
