The Free Store is Wellington's community food redistribution service, and every food collection run relies on a Driver and a Co-pilot working together efficiently. The Co-pilot plays a crucial hands-on role, ensuring food is collected quickly and safely from locations across the city.

This volunteer opportunity involves accompanying The Free Store's driver on food collection runs to the airport, Miramar, Kelburn, and other locations around Wellington, Monday to Friday from 1:30pm to 5:00pm, helping to pack and load surplus food as efficiently as possible and keeping the run on schedule. Volunteers should be responsible, reliable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, physical role.

What you'll bring:
• Physical fitness for loading and packing food items on the go
• Good spatial thinking and efficient packing ability
• Reliability and punctuality for afternoon shifts

You might be a great fit if you are:
• A practical, can-do team player
• Calm and reliable in a time-sensitive environment
• Motivated by the mission of reducing food waste and feeding communities

Training Provided: On-the-job training provided on the first few runs.
