Samaritans of Wellington provides confidential, non-judgmental, and non-religious emotional support, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Porirua centre is open during specific hours, and every trained volunteer Telephone Listener makes that lifeline possible.

This volunteer opportunity involves answering calls at the Porirua Samaritans centre, listening without judgment, and providing a safe, calm space for callers during difficult moments. Volunteers commit to one three-hour shift per week and attend monthly support meetings. Full training, supervision, and ongoing support are provided.
