Hutt City Council is committed to building resilient communities and protecting Lower Hutt's natural environment. Coastal dune restoration at Petone Beach is part of the effort to safeguard the shoreline and restore native plantings for future generations.

This volunteer opportunity involves dune restoration work at Petone Beach, including planting native species such as pingao and spinifex during planting season. Sessions run on the first and third Thursdays of each month, with volunteers meeting at 9am.
