Christ Church Taitā 1854 is the oldest church in the Wellington region and one of the oldest complete buildings in New Zealand, a taonga that has been cared for by the Preservation Society since 1950. Keeping the church grounds well-maintained is an important part of honouring its legacy for future generations.

This volunteer opportunity involves joining a small group of local volunteers who meet monthly to maintain the grounds of the church in Lower Hutt, with the flexibility for individuals to also visit and tidy up at other times that suit them. Three to four people are sought to form this regular gardening group, contributing their time to the care of a site of genuine historical significance.

What you'll bring:
• Basic gardening or grounds maintenance skills
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

You might be a great fit if you are:
• Reliable and community-minded
• A love of heritage, history, or the outdoors
• Happy to work as part of a small team

Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
