Christ Church Taitā 1854 is the oldest church in the Wellington region and thought to be the oldest complete building in Wellington, a remarkable taonga that connects visitors to over 160 years of New Zealand history. Making this heritage accessible and welcoming is central to the Preservation Society's work.

This volunteer opportunity involves welcoming and guiding visitors around the site on Sunday afternoons from 2 pm to 5 pm, sharing the story of the church and helping visitors engage with its history through flyers and short videos. No prior knowledge of the church is required, as full training and support are provided.
