Sign Language Volunteers Needed
Hutt
English Language Partners Hutt helps people from refugee and migrant backgrounds learn the English they need to participate in their communities, find work, and live independent lives in Aotearoa New Zealand. For some community members, communication barriers go beyond spoken language, and sign language volunteers play a vital role in ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for those who need it most.
This volunteer opportunity is open to individuals who are fluent in sign language and want to use that skill to make a genuine difference in the lives of others. The time commitment is negotiable, and the organisation will work with volunteers to find an arrangement that suits both parties.
What you'll bring:
• Fluency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
You might be a great fit if you are:
• Patient, inclusive, and supportive
• Genuinely interested in making a difference for those with communication barriers
• Flexible and willing to adapt
Training Provided: Details to be confirmed with the organisation.
