Christ Church Taitā 1854 is the oldest church in the Wellington region and the oldest complete building in Wellington, a taonga that has stood for over 160 years and is cared for by the Preservation Society. The organisation is committed to ongoing restoration and is seeking people with building experience to support the interior fit-out of the Visitor Centre.
This volunteer opportunity involves skilled tasks including working with Gib board, plaster, and insulation, as well as outdoor work such as digging trenches and laying paving. All work is supervised by an experienced, qualified person. The timing is flexible and can be arranged to suit the volunteer's availability.
What you'll bring:
• Previous building or trade experience (any level welcome)
• Ability to work with Gib board, plaster, and insulation
• Physical fitness for manual work
