Hutt City Council is committed to building a connected, resilient, and inclusive city where all people can thrive. Environmental restoration is central to this vision, and community volunteers are essential partners in protecting the natural spaces that make Lower Hutt special.

This volunteer opportunity involves environmental restoration work at the Waiu Wetland in Wainuiomata, including cutting gorse and blackberry, planting trees and shrubs, and fitting plant protectors. Sessions run on the third Saturday of each month from 10am to 12pm, and groups of six or more volunteers are needed.

What you'll bring:

• Ability to use hand tools safely
• Willingness to work in a team on a regular schedule
